The Bank of Japan’s ( 日本銀行 ) governor Haruhiko Kuroda (黒田晴彦) believes that Facebook's Libra ( (フェイスブック 天秤座) coin needs to be regulated worldwide because its easy access and stability can have a huge impact on society.

Reuters (ロイター ) said that the governor urged lawmakers to apply the highest level of regulation for Libra during his speech on September 23.

On July 2019, a meeting was held to discuss the impact of Libra on money laws. However, European ministers still refuse to accept this coin’s launch. At present, discussions about Libra’s impact are still ongoing.

The CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg (マーク・ザッカーバーグ) dined with the US senators recently to address concerns about Libra. He answered queries about how vile content such as fake accounts can be dealt with.

Founded in 2004, Facebook (フェイスブック) continues its goal of bringing the world closer. It lets people stay in touch with their friends and family by making a site where they can share everything that happens in their daily lives.

On the other hand, Libra was introduced by Facebook on June 18, 2019. It aims to move money no matter where people live, what they do, or how much they earn. Its release is slated for the first half of 2020. People can send funds or coins using its digital wallet Calibra (カリブラ).

Libra can be used by everyone. Its value remains stable and people can quickly use it. One of its goals is to let ‘people everywhere live better lives’.
