CBSG Consortium to Build Commercial Use Case for Blockchains
The Carrier Blockchain Study Group Consortium (CBSG コンソーシアム) announced its plans to build a commercial use case (商用ユースケース) for blockchain payment. The launch is slated for early 2020 as said by one of CBSG’s core members TBCASoft.
‘We look forward to making this use case available in 2020’, said co-representative of CBSG and founder of TBCASoft Lin Wu.
CBSG is making a mobile wallet that uses blockchain. Its main goal is to build cross-payments for communication carriers. The member of CBSG Softbank (ソフトバンク) already did field tests in Taiwan and Japan last January. This is in partnership with Far EasTone (ファーイーストン) of Taiwan.
‘We will be strong to build and verify the launch of a strong commercial use case at the beginning of 2020’, said CFO of Far EasTone Shaman Lee.
Moreover, Softbank’s Executive Director Daichi Nozaki believes they have ‘a great opportunity to differentiate their solutions with a cross-border mobile wallet’.
Founded in September 2017, CBSG continues to grow fast. It aims to provide safe digital payments. Its members include TBCASoft, Inc., SoftBank, and Far EasTone.
TBCASoft is a U.S.-based company that lets its clients create a more secure environment for their subscribers. It helps carriers become more established by making great offers.
On the other hand, SoftBank provides fixed-line telecom. It is based in Japan. Its vision is to become ‘the corporate group needed most by people around the world’. They continue to pursue growth with this in mind.
Far EasTone is one of Taiwan’s leading companies when it comes to telecom. It was founded in 1997 and continues to build its name using ‘Fit, Transform, Grow’. It also prides itself as the country’s first telecom operator. Its vision is ‘FET Connects and Enriches Life’.
